Dear Journal-Embracing the Journey

Dear Journal (Affectionately known as "J")

I had to add “affectionately known as J” because my daughter was reading one of my entries and asked, “Mom, who is J?” I laughed and told her, “J is my journal, girl!” So, just in case anyone else is wondering—now you know.

Today was one of those days! I posted something on social media about chasing your dreams, hoping to encourage others. But later, as I sat down to write, I realized that the message was for me , too. I’m in the thick of pursuing a dream—one that feels so close, yet still just out of reach. Every time I think I’m about to break through, another challenge pops up, slowing me down.

These last few months have been completely wrapped up in this dream, and sometimes I wonder—when I finally reach that next milestone, what will it feel like? I’ve learned so much along the way, yet I still catch myself thinking it’s not enough. But this isn’t a woe-is-me moment (okay, maybe just a little one, LOL). Writing to you isn’t about that. This is my space to reflect, process, and remind myself why I started.

Looking back on that post, I see it now—my dream is already real. Not just some distant goal, but something I’m building, step by step. Like my brother-in-law always says, I’m working to bring it off the page. And I need to stop seeing it as this heavy thing weighing on me until I “make it.” Instead, I want to embrace the process, learn from it and appreciate every moment—because one day, I’ll be able to help someone else walking this same path.

My message to myself and anyone else reading this is to continue to chase your dreams while embracing the process.

Until next time,

Love,

Mel

This was such an inspiring way to remind others to not only push through, or fake it till you make it but embrace the process of growth and not to lose sight. I love how you realized the message was not just for everyone was but also for you too! Now that’s self love/care ♥️ Great entry auntie!
